@spaidersau It would be a thing of beauty if MotoGP was an open prototype class like they claim! Yeah right. It's nothing more than a development league for the major mfgs. Wouldn't it be something to see 500/750/1000cc two strokes battling against all manner of 4 strokes and turbo bikes? That would be entertainment any racing fan would die to see.

@lashawncs you´re right, but in my opinion this bikes would be much better now, thier evolution stoped after the 4-strokes were allowed in the motogp class. It is also easier to develop a 4-stroke than bouliding a "perfect" 2-stroke engine, that was one of the main reasons for ducati to take part in moto gp... but okay, this great time is over and never will come back :(

@MetricHotrodsdotcom Sorry they never did make as much HP as the fours strokes. They were likely around 180hp vs 200hp for the 4-strokes during the first season of MotoGP.

@lashawncs Red Bull Yamaha went so far as to trying various odd looking aerodynamic fairing designs in order to close the disparity in top speeds between their rider American John Hopkins and the other top 4-stroke bikes. It didn't work and 2-strokes were lost forever at the highest level of motorcycle racing. Class dismissed.

@spaidersau Sorry friends but I love the 500 GP era more than anyone but when it was changed to MotoGP and 4-strokes were allowed to compete, these 500cc 2-strokes went head to head with the 4-strokes for the first season before they were phased out. The 2-strokes just could not compete, they did NOT make the amount of HP the 4-strokes made. Matter of fact Red Bull Yamaha campaigned the 500cc bike and did moderately well but struggled with lack of HP compared to the 4-strokes.

o dislikes? good work :)

i miss two stroke - it will never be the same anyway .

@spaidersau I´m pretty shure the fork and the rear shok are OK on this bike(Øhlins). It will compete flawless, bet on it ;)..

The change for 650cc-2T instead of 500cc-2T at the same past technology level put 1000cc-4T in the pocket, said Alex Barros. With today technology level of direct fuel injection, it will be a child play. The 4T era was a commercial imposition.
put some modern tieres on this bike, improve the fork and the rear shok, put a good rider on it and it will be competitive to an modern moto gp bike... i miss the two stroke time, this are/were real race bikes not racing computers...

This bike makes identical HP to the 800cc motoGP bikes. 205hp, however its probably 20lns or more lighter. A superior machine in almost every way, dont let the 4-stroke propoganda fool you.
