@NY3UVL714 You are incorrect. The episode took place in the 23rd century but on a planet with 20th century technology. It was called "Patterns of Force" and the planet's government mimicked the German Nazis. Kirk and Spock had been incarcerated by the Nazis and in this scene they are using a crystal that had been implanted on them to produce a simple laser to break out of jail.
