  • All I ever wanted to be was an Astronaut. Since I was five, I've been working to become one. I hope I'll become one someday. I'll keeping working, and perhapswhen I'm 45, I'll be ready to go into space!

  • @jerrythepotato1919 Astronauts are made up of people from all sorts of fields. I'm sure they would love to have an astronomer on a mission to Mars or something like that. I bet you could find a way to do both things because they are so closely related. As for the physical issue I wouldn't worry too much about that. They aren't looking for body builders. They are just looking for people who can work hard without any complications. For example I can't be an astronaut because I'm color blind.

  • RIP Space Shuttle!

  • Hey, I've worked there! :D

  • @TheTurbinator I hope your right, and I think you are. I spent the last hour and a half watching a National Geographic video about space and the Universe; it was called "Journey to the Edge of the Universe" and it gave me a real understanding of how amazing (and huge!) the Universe really is. And I'm sure that, like you said, either way will be fun. I may just head towards an astronaut, because it would be simply amazing for me to stand on the Moon, staring up at our home planet, if I get there.

  • @jerrythepotato1919 , you have a quite a long time to figure out what you want to choose. As you continue your school and gain new experiences in your life, you will get a better idea of what you want to choose. Whatever you choose, it will be fun.

  • @TheTurbinator LOL well I'm only in grade 6 so I guess I've got a LONG way to go...

But I'm still not sure if I wanna be an astronaut or an astronomer, because I know that astronauts, like you told me have to be very fit and healthy and have a solid education, but astronomers need to be VERY good at math and physics...

    Which is better??

  • @jerrythepotato1919 , Canada hires Astronauts at about once every 10 years. If you have a solid education, and are physically fit you just might make it.

  • @TheTurbinator Ya I agree I wanna be an astronaut

  • This looks fun.
