I've been all across this country. In 16 years, I've had the honor of seeing more of my own backyard than most get to in a lifetime. And I can honestly say that this country is indeed great and beautiful. I can't tell you that this is the best country on earth; I haven't been to that many other countries. But I can tell you that this is a great land inhabited by great people. And I would fight and die to see that it remains so. My loyalty lies to the land and people of this country.

i love America but i cannot say the same for its politicians. America has saved the world from tyranny many a times but in the last 60 years you wonder why were young men were sent to die for cause which did not concern America.

When you look back at Vietnam and fast forward to its present day anything but in name communist, you wonder about the lost lives of many precious young men and women..

vietnam had NOTHING to do with caring for other people... They just wanted to stop the push of communism, they believed in the domino effect. I bet Vietnamese people would have been better off if the US never got involved there. Also, the middle east was more or less a free place (especially for women and those laws) before the extremists got into power after foreigners got involved there (Russians invading etc.). You are just pushing that crap of how the US makes the world a better place. GJ

that is a nice sentiment and all, but the more i think about it, the more i realize how saying things like that is almost peverse, since europeans just came to north america and said "this is ours now, we feel entitled to own this land". I love living in North America (Canadian), but sometimes i wish europeans never came here.

Yes, war is bad. Isolationism is unrealistic. Two times we tried in the 20th Century. What happened? WWI and WWII. How can you gauge the price of life? Just because people here arent suffering, we shouldnt care for those that are? Do you have and idea of what happend to the South after the US left Vietnam? Do you think the South Koreans would be better off if we left them alone? Israel? Iraq is the first and only democratic muslim nation in history. My blood is no more red than my neighbors.
