Every day at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival a watermelon is "sacrificed" at the Fais Dos Dos stage just before the last group of the day performs. The song everyone chants is derived from one the old fruit vendors of the past that would sing as they made their way through New Orleans neighborhoods selling their produce.

  • HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS MAN?? He has been missing for a week, last seen at New Orleans Jazz Festival 2011 and later at Louie's Corner Bar (500 Elmira St. Algier's Point) on Saturday May 7 to at least around midnight that night. He is Australian and his friends and family are very worried about him, please help us locate Alex! Please google 'Alex Beddows missing' to see photos of Alex. And please, please spread the word around New Orleans!
