A gloomy, rainy, blustery morning in Adelaide. Departure via Substation and South Para Reservoir. Low cloud and lifting fog near Mount Crawford. A rough and tumble arrival at Pallamana airfield, Murray Bridge.

  • RVs have a 3/8th inch hole under the wing which accesses a UNC threaded socket on the spar. You screw an eyebolt into the socket to tie it down. For his application I just made a camera mount on the end of a bit of 3/8th threaded rod, and screwed it in, safetied with lock wire and loctite.

  • It's about 20 minutes in an RV-6, give or take. You spend almost as much time on the ground doing checks, warming up the engine and getting clearances as you spend actually flying :)

  • How did you bolt it to the tie down point?

  • Wow this was cool to watch, I use to live in Salisbury and now in Mount Barker so it was nice to be able to recognize everything! Wish I could fly a plane, how long did it take to fly to Murray Bridge?
