nice trick but isn't it kind of obvious? i mean, that's how you set a table every day twice a day, by now people should know where the cutlery goes, or do they live off porridge that only requires a spoon ò_ô???

Tough one. My husband is left handed and we have to be careful to sit on the correct side so we don't bump elbows too!
My best advice is to learn to drink with your right hand if you are at a fancy dinner party. That way, you won't be competing for table space with your neighbor. If you are at your own home do what you want. It's your prerogative :-)

I never have a problem with the fork part b/c I'm left-handed, so I like having it on the left side.
But I prefer the knife on the left, b/c that's where it's going to end up anyway when I use my left hand to cut meat with it.
I'm guessing a traditional table setting was created with right-handed people in mind.

I hadn't thought about it from a left hand perspective.
There tips are according to Standard American Etiquette.
