  • another question. how much did you have to tune your antenna for it? what are the measurements? i dont have a swr meter and prefer not to buy one

  • @lac365 I didn't tune the antenna that time. I have only used this radio a few times and never checked the swr. i have a big stack of radios that i collected over the years and hook one up from time to time. I dont do much talking, mostly just listening to skip. not many people in my area use CB anymore. most of the old timers have passed away. I do however use an swr to tune the radio I have in my toyota 4runner. if you check ebay you can find a swr meter for cheap.

  • I bought one of these new many years ago! still have it, still works! great job!!

  • It is a fun radio to have

  • It looks like you got a bargain there.

    5 stars for you.

  • lol i hear that man all the time from NY switchblade i am from Harrison NY this is kc2qyw 73 for now yes i do CB and ham radio to its all fun

  • These radios when tuned can really bark like a big radio!!! I know some look down on them but inside most of them are a UNIDEN!

  • when your actually talking on it, how many lights appear?

  • LOL a couple of bucks. Sounds like one of my deals!! I got a President Grant for 10.00 and a Black Cat JB 200A for 10.00 at a sale just the other day! BOTH WORK! Ive always had an affinity for those old realistic bases. They DO sound good when tuned up right. Not a big powerful radio but that doesnt matter if you cant hear them you CANT work them I always say!

  • Picked up one of these for 10 bucks at a ham radio swap last weekend. Works perfect. Made a contact with it on the first try. Receiver seems fairly sensitive. I'm surprised it performs well since they only cost about 100 bucks new 20 years ago.
