How to Optimize Your PS3 for 720p and 1080p

For instructions on how to set up see the video.In this video I show how to set up your PS3/PS3(slim) for 720p and 1080p. This way you get crystal clear picture quality. Granted you set up the resolution right. You can set up your 720p HDTV for 1080p forPS3 and games will look better.

I just chose the Automatic set up feature when setting resolution, and it will do the job for you, no problem. If you have a 720p TV and set it to 1080p res on PS3 it will not make a difference in picture quality when watching movies.

This will only work w/ a PS3 and PS3 slim, so please do not ask me if this will work w/ a PS2 or PS.I will make more instructional videos. If you want to make a request video do so. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

@sameed491 Get an HDMI cable. If you want to get the best picture quality get a good brand of HDMI cable. Monster,and Phillips hdmi cables produce very good results. I would stay away from the dirt cheap HDMI cables.They make DVD,Blu-Ray and high def video games look like crap.

@nikejordan214 You will need an HDMI cable to get the best picture and sound quality out of your PS3 for games and movies. Do not let these cheap cables draw you in. They are cheap for a reason. The thirty or forty dollar cables will produce awesome results.Trust me cause i am using one and am continually blown away with the quality with each game I play.

@ChicDrummerChic The TV you are buying is an LCD HDTV. The sales person that told you any PS3 game requires HD are just trying to make a sale. In other words you can play PS3 games on an SDTV. Enjoy you're new TV!

I have a Samsung Slim Fit Tv a.k.a CS29Z40MQ. I'm going to buy a ps3 this saturday and I'll buy Grand Theft Auto IV. the store told me that GTA 4 requires an HDTV. and I don't know if our tv's hdtv. can you help me? I'm so bummed I don't know what to do, I love GTA.

Hi guys ! I have a 32 inch 1080p tv and a ps3 slim. Im using hdmi and it plays the games at 1080p but it still looks Low res. Im sitting right in front of my tv. Am i sitting to close to the tv or Can i do anything? Please help me!

Someone please help me, i have a ps3 slim 120gb, i have a 32' Tv and plays 720p movies, however everytime i try to play a movie it goes to 480p...i do have all the display/video settings set to 720p,,,
