John Smith is an amoral gunslinger in the days of Prohibition. On the lam from his latest (unspecified) exploits, he happens upon the town of Jericho, Texas. Actually, calling Jericho a town would be too generous--it has become more like a ghost town, since two warring gangs have 'driven off all the decent folk.' Smith sees this as an opportunity to play both sides off against each other, earning himself a nice piece of change as a hired gun. Despite his strictly avowed mercenary intentions, he finds himself risking his life for his, albeit skewed, sense of honor....

Genre:Action | Crime | Drama | Thriller
Director:Walter Hill
Cast:Bruce Willis, Bruce Dern, William Sanderson

  • Every generation should try a Yojimbo, Imagine it as a Futuristic Sci-Fi, Martial Arts Kung Fu or a Medieval Epic it'd work in so many genres and languages.

  • great movie

  • @hazard224 Man I im glad this was a remake! Because I am a BIG Clint Eastwood fan as well as a Bruce fan, and when i was watching this, I was thinking A fistfull of Dollars! But it looks like A Fistfull of Dollars is a remake too so I'll have to check Yojimbo out! thanx!

  • Scraight....I thought the exact same thing....

  • @Scraight Last Man Standing was a remake of the Akira Kurosawa film Yojimbo (1961), which was also remade by Sergio Leone in A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and John C. Broderick in The Warrior and the Sorceress (1984).
