Hello Freinds, I am Dave (219erman)..DirtFish Dave..Or McNickle.....I (and my 2 detecting buddies)have posted on Treasurenet (In the Illinois section of the forum....Lots of great detectorists there ),and on the findmall forum in the E-Trac section (I posted as McNickle) Lots of Great hunters there as well as detecting help on FindMall too. I am fortunate to have hunted with T-manfromtexas (Tracy), and GOIO (Greg) last year and this year....So far this year between the 3 of us. ...(Together) We have found 898 silver coins [and counting] so far this year (2009),and I am the only one of us 3 that is counting my silver war nickles (10) toward MY total... .All 3 of us use Minelab E-Trac machines, and mostly hunt with the 'Pro Coil' that came with it. After I found MY 200th silver coin...(Video of that in my uploads) I made a challange to the other 2 of trying to find a total of (1000) silver coins in 2009.for & between the 3 of us.......This video is dedicated to Greg who in it found his 400th Silver in one year,2009. I don't think we 3 will find a total of 1000 silver this year (Just not enough daylight hunting time or good weather)....But I am certain, that on the last day of December 2009.....If we ALL count our silver war nickles as well as the silver we find after Thanksgiving...We should be able to reach ---hopefully--- 925-950 (Together).
.......My freind has out hunted me 4 to 3 on silver this year..(Altho I am the only one of the 3 of us, that consistantly wastes silver time on digging v and buffalo nickles)..........In these three days he found 6 the first day ((In a Park we 3 have pounded to death)),8 the second day,and 7 the third day...That seventh one,on day 3 was his 400th silver coin found in 2009 (Most he ever found in one year)...He makes it look soo easy...His second and third days we hunted together...He found 15 silver to my 3....That 5 to 1 ratio is why he has found so many...Park Hopping...Hunting allot of hours and digging allot of targets is how he does it....We sometimes "Speed hunt " areas we haven't hunted much to pick up fast silver......Then slow down (with Very little discrimination) to hunt areas that may have silver being masked by junk targets..
.........................All the parks we hunt have been hunted before...I have seen detectorist in most every one of them....We use different patterns and techniques on the same park we may have hunted last week & last year to pull even more silver from them...Tommorow I may have to use a different technique ,and be able to pull 3 silver out of a park I may have only found one out of yesterday (IN THE SAME EXACT 100' x 100' AREA)...I took some time to show a coin hunting pattern we have just started using...(We used the standard coins program most of the year) (On the Minelab E-Trac),,,,and I took some footage of Greg's sweep speed and Dig Speed...Fast for Fast silver...and Digging a lot from 2"- 11"....The deeper the silver signal the better the odds for silver & Older silver at that....Today the silver was newer and was recovered at 3"-7"...Hunt long hours & dig dig dig..(Your odds of finding silver will improve if you use a DD coil...Almost all manufacturers will offer one for thier brand of detector)
Hope you enjoy these hunts as much as "he" did L.O.L....Happy Hunting......

I know Greg probably put in 10 more hours a week than me....But the man is a Silver Monster....Almost every hunt...He out-hunts me on Silver & it shows in my Vids......I will keep in touch with you Rob....We'll get together (Hopefully this month) and have a good ole 'Dirt Fishing' Time....Just have to agree on which C.C.F.P. to hunt that is central between us so none of us have to drive too far...
Kermit and Mary want to meet up as well..
Maybe a Years end Group Hunt is in order ? H.H. Dave
