Rough and Tumble Shay Railroad at the time of harvest Boston and Maine three chime whistle

It is a Boston and Maine three chime. The B & M later became part of the Maine Central (MEC). my friend purchased it from the daughter of a man who worked in the Waterville, Maine shops most of his life. my friend has pictures of that style whistle on several of the engines that worked the Farmington branch which was where the famous Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes RR (two foot gauge) interchanged with the MEC
