RAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -Professional free skier C.R. Johnson has died at California's Squaw Valley while taking a run down a steep chute and smashing his head against a rock outcropping.
Jim Rogers, a member of the Lake Tahoe-area resort's ski patrol, said was skiing with a group of friends Wednesday when he fell while trying to negotiate a "very, very tight, rocky area."
Rogers said Johnson was 25 or 26 years old.

  • I read this comment board and there are so many of you that just dont get the feeling, its not just a thrill, its not selfish and why is religion even being brought into this? Its about one mans passion, the shear feeling of satisfaction when you summit a mountain then shred down the face in untouched pow. I am no where near the ability of these guys but i have shared in the feeling and the dangers. If only we could all die doing the thing we loved the most as he stated, RIP one good man.
