  • I have some bucket gardens similar to yours. You are right you don't have to have the bottom wicking bucket. Like you Im also useing compost tea. Well worm compost tea. It works great. .....Paula

  • @Allen2045 the buckets work very well ive found there only good for maybe one two at the most plants at the same time

  • It's been about six weeks since you created this video and without filling the 4" supports with soil to create a wicking effect (like DJ mentioned earlier) we were wondering HOW the plants are doing and HOW much water gets drawn up into the containers with no noticeable means. Our containers are using about a quart and a half of water from the reservoir every week. Out of 14, we have one that is not wicking for some reason and have to water it from the top. We don't want to disturb it.

  • @VirtualTourShop mine went the whole season with out any problems at all everything grew very well without the wick i was watering once every day and a few times during the summer i went away for 3 to 4 days and the garden was fine no issues at all as far as lack of water

  • what is going to whik the water up into the soil?? Shouldnt the two support containers have a whiking medium?

  • @DJControllerC i found they do not need to be wicked

  • Thank you for this video. I do have a question though, as I still don't understand how it works without a "wick". You say the water has nowhere to go but up into the soil, it has no choice.... but once the water level gets below the soil level, it will just sit there, unelss it is super hot and evaporates. It can't jump... lol So how low is the water in the container when you water? And how often do you water? Thanks! :)

  • @stymye sorry about that i guess you can tell im not a professional photographer
