It's a 240-square-foot home on wheels, but Stephen Marshall (of Little House on a Trailer) says his original home on wheels isn't a tiny house, but simply a little house. The kitchen is outfitted with a mini-sink and refrigerator and the bathroom uses an incinerating toilet ($2,000, no septic nor sewage hookup needed). • I think the technology for the toilet is awesome, but it is aesthetically unpleasing. Does it use water? If so, might I suggest looking into Japanese washlette toilets. I'd also recommend taking your shoes off before entering the house. It keeps the floors much cleaner. This house is much bigger than most Japanese apartment. I'd like to import one over here. Possible?

  • @japanascope The toilet doesn't use water. The idea is that this is an option for people who aren't connected to sewage/septic. Though the house can be connected and then you could use a water toilet. For purchase info you'd have to contact the builder (info in the original story-- link above). Though my guess is it would be too expensive to export one of these to Japan.

  • Which model is the white one, classic old house charm one/ 19th Century Rural farm house style? I have a apprx 10 X 18 car port in back our home. I need a place for my Mom when she comes to our place fro Baja, Mexico/Loreto. She rents places there, but I want her here when we have a child.

  • @djkenny Do you mean the house that I focus on in this video. That one is what he uses as his office. If you want to see more his website is littlehouseonthetrailer . com

  • @kirstendirksen Hi Kirsten. Yes, I was wondering which model that one is?

  • @djkenny I just checked out his website and I believe he calls this one the Pierce Point Cottage. 240 sq ft combination home office/ guest house (compact kitchen, full size shower bath, incinerating toilet).

  • That's a neat little house, but no thanks on the $2K incinerating toilet. A homebuilt Humanure toilet, a portable toilet, or even a regular toilet running into a 55 gallon drum with a single field line and flushing with greywater is a lot cheaper and doesn't rely on fuel, electricity or paper liners.

  • LOL! You've gotta be educated to use the toilet. Is that a 2 or 4 year degree? I've got a bachelors in shitology!

  • Monopoly card Board Walk at 2:26 I wasn't sure it was it until I paused.

  • @srvafool Yeah, my friends that live in Northern CA, the bay area of all places, in Boulder Creek... they paid a contractor under 5 grand to set one up. Anyone who pays 50 grand is smoking some good stuff.

  • @stiemogo I figured these would be under 20 grand... yeah, that is nuts.

  • @djkenny An adult living in a doll house.plain stupidity! Claustrophobia any one?

Shack whacky in one day.! Don't expect guests or a guest unless you want and elbow in the belly or things swept off the wall with each graceful turn.!

No more roam than a coffin. Yech!! keep the dollhouse and burning feces, At least when you die they can put handles on the side and you save money on a coffin.

  • for anyone who thought that having an education was not worthwhile; you can now add "incinerating toilet operator" to your résumé.

  • HELLS YA. i'd live in that for a starter home.... buy a piece of vacant land cheap...i'd take away the silly toilet, and the trailer, and plop it on a cinder block foundation. house is done!

  • I checked out the website for this company, out of curiosity. These little dwelling spaces are $20,000 - $50,000. You would be better off building your own, or speaking to a contractor about building a small boat-style room on a trailer. Just my opinion.

  • hopefully that toilet has a good warranty
