I'm sorry, it appears the first part of my comment didn't post:
Thanks a lot for this Mike, I'm sure this will keep us busy for quite some time.
If you have a minute, I wanted to ask how proficient you are in Old Norse, or other older German languages. I'm learning Icelandic, and I wondered how much greater it offers to read the Lore in the original language

So Vinterulf, based off your previous comments you would be okay if say, an African or Chinaman started worshiping the Old Gods?

Angry and active...you are right. Just like like little children fighting in a school yard. Lol. Fits perfect. I really feel sorry for those who take part in hate groups. I wonder what has happened to them that makes them hate an entire race for no reason. It is a sad state of affairs. You reap what you sow, as everyone knows. Be prepared to eat the bitter fruit you have grown. Karma is not a kind mistress and there is much interest on the debt such hateful actions incur.

@yanikv Great. Now send that sentiment (that idea) to a wider audience. Do your best to permit its propagation, and you will protect the very best traditions of your faith. Fail, and you will watch that faith become perverted (and owned by those who would harm it indefinitely).
Good luck. You will probably need it because White supremacists are typically angry and active.

LMAO. And this would the be the first time white supremisit's stole a religion's symbols and ideas? No, I think not. One only needs to remember the swastika(sacred to the east and natives) to know that nazis, neo or not, have always been dirty thieves with no integrity of their own. Asatru existed long before those fucktards even thought of existing. It is NOT a religion of white supremacy in the slightest. Some jackass just decided that would fit their ideals and took whatever wanted.

Nitpicker. His point to that idiot still stands just the same.

@Vinterulf "a religous pantheon of gods that all of Northern Europe worshipped"
I feel the need to correct you on that, not all of Northern Europe was Germanic/ Norse. The Finns and Sami (who are not only not Germanic but not even Indo-European) among others had their own pantheons of deities and religion very distinct and unrelated to that of their Germanic neighbors.

Damn I need to expand my library I want to read a lot of those

Thanks for the heads up on The Road to Hel in PDF.
Any thoughts on the Eddas being written by a Christian (Snorri)?

I really like Simek's "Dictionary", but the edition I have (the same as yours) has such a terrible binding, it's falling apart!
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Isnt this that Icelandic faith that got hijacked by American white supremacists?
I once heard an Icelander rant about what the "Yanks" did to "his" tradition. Seemed pretty pissed.

First, Asatru is not a white supremist religion. Supremicy is a ridiculous ideology that is not religious in nature. that's the only lip service i'll give it.
Second, Americans did not "hijack it" nor do Icelanders have copyright on a religous pantheon of gods that all of Northern Europe (go figure, where most Americans' heritage is found) worshipped.
Thirdly, when I visited The Felag in Iceland in 2000, no one seemed to have that viewpoint about us American visitors. We even kept in touch.
