Mary's Little Boy Child - Tin Whistle - Christmas

Will plays the poignant Christmas carol, Mary's Little Boy Child, Jesus Christ on the tin whistle.
This is not Irish Tratidional music itm itrad but it still sounds pretty on the tin whistle. Sometimes it's nice to hear tunes other than jigs reels and hornpipes played on this instrument. Even non celtic tunes sound good on whistles fiddle concertina harp flute mandolin and banjo.

I believe that this tune originates in the West Indies. I have tried calypso tunes on the whistle and they sound great, (at least the older ones). Perhaps the whistle is well suited to all folk music.

Hi, Ric. I have heard it done very beautifully with steel drums - which may be part of the west indies connection. It's also hard not to think of Harry Belafonte when I hear the tune.

It's actually suppos to be faster, I have the sheet music and am tought by a pro, but on the tin whistle I think it wouldn't sound as good if it was fast

Well, I think you need to work on rhytm. The tune´s not bad, but it´s not good yet.
