When in Vermont the http://motorhomediaires.com crew had a chance to sit-down with their friend Mark Tucci, a medical marijuana patient, activist and author. In this video Mark tells of his experience when traveling to a http://drugpolicy.org conference in the fall of 2005, which began with him in a bed at the Long Beach Memorial Hospital due to his MS symptoms.

Instead of being allowed to self-medicate with medical marijuana he found himself dealing with the bureaucracy of the hospital administration and the arbitrariness of the war on drugs by law enforcement. It's a story that underscores the rights-violating nature of the war on drugs and the importance of self-ownership.

  • Mark, here's my read on the story you just told.

Sounds like the head nurse was being overly beurocratic (sp?) covering her own butt. Thankfully, the Gay Nurse and Miguel Miguel were sly enough to provide you the care you needed and deserve! Perhaps her actions notifying the police was a bit over-the-top but I understand her taking copies of your registration card in case other patients or doctors see or smell the burning joint and ask questions etc. Hope you are pain free today and always

  • A very good video highlighting the struggles that good law abiding citizens have to deal with in regards to their choice of medicine to use in dealing with their medical or spiritual conditions. I'm glad that day ended on a peaceful note for Mark and my prayers are with him that he can maintain some form of peace and dignity on this journey he's been given. Mark

  • Once again gentlemen you do a fabulous job of bringing stories of real life people to the surface that largely would have gone ignored.
