  • @veronica80261 I was touched to read your message -- what a great legacy your brother left the world! This album was part of the soundtrack of my childhood and the non-sexist, non-racist world my parents raised me to try and create. He lives on in all of us whose lives were touched by Free to Be.

  • The tall brother in the back in the yellow turleneck and white kufi, was my wonderful brother, Haki Shujaa. He passed away in 2009 of Multple Sclerosis complications. The most awesome song The Voices of East Harlem made was Givivg Love-what a song---His sis-veronica.

  • I used to listen to this CD every day when I was 4-6. Thanks for bringing back memories.

  • @maxfreund Absolutely. Beautifully put!

  • I do remember this in grammer school. No 6 , 1980-1981, I was a special ed student and we performed this , in from of the whole school and they loved it. thanks memories.

  • THEY FILMED THIS IN CENTRAL PARK, NYC... THAT PLAYGROUND IS EXACTLY THE SAME TODAY :DDDD

  • You know, the feeling of having sisters and brothers often has a way of being good AND bad. Of course if you were like Michael Jackson, growing up with almost nine siblings, you'd know exactly what I mean.

  • this is gorgeous -- today, no one would dare choreograph dance routines on a playground set. too dangerous, it'd set a bad example for the kiddies. and they'd cast 15 year old actors, not dancers.

  • @peggyli2010 Your uncle lives forever in the hearts of millions who love this. This is life altering music that encapsulates the last great era for America. Rest in Peace Haki Shujaa.

  • wow. this song/ video epitomizes the 70's!

  • @revolvingrelay11 ikr but i have too sing it :(
