@blakeradil lol dude hes doing 400 i doubt he would struggle with 225 but some trainer told me that in box squat you arent suppose to sit at all you're just supposed to "stop" your ass on it not sit at it
-
@blakeradil by any major powerlifting federation's judging, he is easily parallel here. his ass is in line with his knees. and i really don't know where you got the idea that a box 1 inch above parallel will allow you to lift twice what you would do on a normal squat...
-
Most powerlifters prefer just below parallel on a box squat, this forces the hip flexors to work much harder , 14 inches is about right for most folk
-
you show how little you know about powerlifting in this post. "try a 14" box"??? how do you know how long the guy's legs are, how thick his ass is? lol
how do you know a 14" box would even put him parallel or lower?
1" above parallel, twice the weight??? LMAO
your ignorance is showing

@mmakiller1 actually box squats are harder than a normal squat. what you are doing in this vid is not a box squat. a box should be parallel or below. if you sit on a box that is even an inch above parallel, it will allow you to lift almost twice what you would do on a normal parallel squat. try a 14" box and see how quickly you will struggle with 225
-
yea, i have a hard time controlling alot of weight when doing parallel squats. My max is only 365. Im also 5'7 and work out at school. So i have a hard time breakin the weight.

Box squats are harder for me! Everyone is different though...

im 16, weigh 185 and can BOX SQUAT 500. Thats not rare at all. My regular parallel squat is only 365 though. Box squats are alot easier.

box squats can be at whatever height is needed for someone's weak spot. actually, it is a box squat.
And no, I can't do on high box squats, almost twice what I can do with low box squats. If you can, you have a serious imbalance somewhere and should probably address it very quickly before you get injured.

i thought you were just supposed to touch your ass against it, not sit right down. hurts my back when i sit right down.

you should be keeping everything tight still except your hamstrings and ass for a second, then explode up, and make sure not to round or tuck your lower back at all as you sit. I was surprised at how much these didn't hurt my back as long as I kept everything tight. you're supposed to sit down but not relax if that makes sense.

looks a tad high, but you got great form. I personally just stack plates to get to the height I need as benchs rarely are at the right height. Keep up the good work

Thanks. I wouldn't have thought of stacking plates. That bench was the lowest I could find, and I didn't know it wasn't low enough until I saw the video. I think I rocked a little too much too.
