  • Honestly, It wouldn't surprise me. If there are some racist undertones. Seeing as the British fought the Japanese in world war 2. Old habits, Die hard,

But, At the same time. I don't think the soul purpose of the Asian man is to be racist.

I just think, It is supposed to be hilarious, Which it was.

But, I also think. Regardless of how the Asian is looked at. Whether it be Racist or not. I think, In 2011 we should be able to get past it, Just watch it for what it is, Not for what it could be

  • @PorknBeanJuice No, but thanks for asking. ;)

  • @MarkSentMe

let me guess, you're a caucasian male?

  • @yummieyummie123

Couldn't put it any better. Thank you.

  • @Ascyltos ok, but "acceptable" and "correct" and "right" are not synonymous.

  • @yummieyummie123 To be fair, though, in the 1970s casual racism (way worse than this - as in, minstrel-show level) was kinda acceptable.

  • @BodomTranquilityWorm It is hilarious, but certainly, nobody could get away with this type of thing today ... though if there are any Brits posting here, perhaps they could let me know if this sort of humour is still allowed on British TV?

I don't know if it's racism or just the type of humour that was allowed (at least back then) ... did you ever see the Fawlty Towers episode involving the German visitors?

    :-D

  • Interesting that Peacock has a long life line, seeing as Frank Thornton is still alive and kicking at 91. I'd stay away from trains if I were him tho...

  • @MarkSentMe And enjoy I do!!!....Im not pc at all. THE FUCKING UNITED NATIONS CREATED POLITICAL CORRECTNESS...FUCK THE UN....

  • @BodomTranquilityWorm Asians have deragatory terms for whites, so dont go thinking racism is a one way street, only going with the white man...Read and learn before condemning the British or White Americans!!!!

  • It's not anal retentive to recognise that while this show is memorable and funny, racially, it is offensive. To ignore that is your own choice, but it doesn't make it go away, and to suggest that its an American issue is insulting. Only privileged people can ignore it... not the people who are on the receiving end of it, and I say that as a fan.
