i am actually shocked that the UK allows this sort of sport. I thought they were a bit more civilized than america with the treatment of animals. i guess i have a lot more to learn about animal cruelty beyond "food animals" in europe... :-(

It strikes me though... suppose you'd organize a Russian roulette, with voluntary participants (even though i would not want that to happen.) .. the whole world would try to ban it, which is understandable. But when a hypersensitive animal, such as a Greyhound, capable of feeling pain, is 'used' for earning money ,in a way that holds a thousand risks.. The tax-earning gouvernement looks the other way. THAT IS SO HYPOCRITICALLY PATHETIC. Let those dogs live a comfortable life, outside the track.

Crying wathing this as it is so true its not right what the Greys go through something needs to be done to stop the crulty. I have 2 rescue Greyhounds of my own and I love them dearly the mess they were in was shocking when I got them.
