  • If you're looking for a classical guitar with traditional warm tone, check out an Esteve. However, they're not cheap They're handmade in Spain. Imported into California. Probably as much as a Ramirez, but I like it better.

However, before making a huge investment like this I would highly advise making sure you are going to stick with the learning. It doesn't make much sense to spend a couple of thousand on a guitar to sit around and gather dust

  • @Branes51 I'd love to have a nice guitar of that caliber but like you said they are very expensive. One day maybe.

  • @Branes51

I only wish I had it 20 years ago when my fingers weren't so old and crotchety :P After a lifetime for playing rock and roll, trying to learn classical is like starting completely from scratch. I'm using chords and bass notes I didn't know existed. LOL. Going from classical to rock is a lot easier than from rock to classical.

I don't know how long you have to practice these pieces to get them up to tempo, but you're doing a great job.

  • @Branes51 thanks alot, it definitely doesn't come easy for me either, I'll practice a piece at least 6 months before I feel like I can do a semi-decent recording with no mistakes

  • sackasilver…I love this performance. It helped inspire me to purchase a guitar and start to learn earlier this year.

I just sold my first guitar and looking to buy a better classical guitar, but my search isn't going well. It might be mistake to start with recordings, but so far a lot of the new ones (e.g. Cordóba C5) sound so clean and pure in tone that they seem boring compared to the older ones. Am I off base? Does anyone make a new guitar with character in its voice?

    Thank you!

  • @fairuse69 Thank you! I need to get a new guitar too. If you find a good one let me know what kind! Best of luck to you :)
