"Love Story" ft. Katrina Nierre / "Green Thumb" ft. HAPA

These were my first two songs for Musicfest '08 this year. I was honored and privileged to have been joined by my band "LEVEL 5" which includes: K.C. "the Wonder drummer" Hohensee (drums), Kevin Straine (guitar), Shawn Scott (bass) and JMarvelous on the tables.

"Love Story" is an intro into my love affair with Hip-Hop. Katrina's voice sings the hook to an old favorite originally by Luther Ingram entitled "If loving you is wrong"

"Green Thumb" is originally performed over a beatbox. But for the sake of a live performance, we flipped over a cover beat of Blue Scholars' "Mourning for America" off of their "Bayani" album. My man "HAPA" joins me onstage for his first appearance at Musicfest.

KATRINA NIERE - Katrina is a young singer who just graduated from Loma Linda Academy. I've had the honor of sharing the stage with her on several occassions. Her voice is soulful and grips tight to your ears. I'm looking forward to the beauty this girl continues to bring through.

HAPA - www.myspace.com/rhymesmith. This kat is ILL and is coming out with his first album next year entitled "Composition Book". HAPA's label "OuttheCloset Records" as already made noise in the O.C. and is bound to make more noise upon the release of his album. Check him out, add him and let him know I.Y.E. Rize sent you.
