Historical Duels in Armor

This was a day of medieval sword duels and fights with explanatory information given by the historical reenactment group the Guerrieri di Skye (Warriors of Skye) and guests in Rome, Italy, June 2008.

The duels/fights are live and unchoreographed in order to present to the public what combat in the middle ages represented.

This as we see it is historical reenactment, with no holds barred and all techniques, from those unarmed to armed, done under strict control in unprogrammed situations in order to represent the living moment of the fight in a safe and enjoyable format.

The fighting members of the group are chosen from the students at the school of western martial arts Arme Antica.

A couple of centuries of martial habits were surveyed and discussed, with ensuing examples of the fight, from 1200 to about 1450.

We were also lucky enough to have contributing with us Erika dell' Acqua of the Clan della Lupa Argentea, a performer, choreographer, and teacher of tribal dance here in Rome who regaled the crowd with Middle-Eastern dance styles; Maria Grazia di Stefano of Terra di Grazia, a known and talented seamstress who discussed particularities of the medieval vestiary to the public; and the archaeologist Sandra Mazza who discoursed upon medieval culinary habits and curiosities.

Questo è stato un giorno di duelli e informazioni medioevali tenuto dal gruppo storico i Guerrieri di Skye, a Piscina delle Rose, Roma, Giugno 2008.

I duelli sono liberi e non coreografati in modo da rappresentare meglio la natura del combattimento medioevale.

Secondo il nostro punto di vista questa è la rievocazione storica, con combattimenti senza esclusione di colpi, con tutte le tecniche della scherma storica, da quelle disarmate a quelle con le armi, eseguite in modo controllato in situazioni non programmate per meglio rappresentare il momento vivente del combattimento medioevale in un' atmosfera sicura e piacevole.

I membri combattenti del gruppo vengono dalla scuola di arti marziali occidentali Arme Antica.

Sono stati discussi un paio di secoli di abitudini marziali, ed a seguire esempi dei tipi di combattimento, dal 1200 fino a circa 1450.

Siamo stati anche cosi' fortunati da ottenere il contributo di Erika dell' Acqua della compagnia di danza tribal fusion "Clan della Lupa Argentea" , una danzatrice, coreografa ed insegnante di danza tribale qui a Roma la quale ha deliziato il pubblico con stili di danza mediorientali; Maria Grazia di Stefano di Terra di Grazia, una sarta ben conosciuta nell' ambiente che ha discusso sulle particolarità del vestiario medioevale; l' archeologa Sandra Mazza che ha tenuto un discorso interessante su abitudini e curiosità culinarie del medioevo. Find a qualified school (good luck with that), find interested people in your area, and go for it. Safety first, above all things.

A parte il turpiloquio, da che ne deduco, un livello culturale molto basso e una immaturità evidente, ti faccio presente che si sta parlando di rievocazione storica, ma credo che sarebbe troppo pretendere che tu ti informi su cosa è la rievocazione storica e chi la pratica.
