shooting from the back of the violinist instead of the front so people have no idea about the fingerings and the positions? thanks, camera man, the back of his violin is all i wanna see...
@MrFpam, if that's the impression you got from my comments, then I really don't know what to say. as for me, i know a good/great violinist when i hear one. i play the Strauss, Sibelius, etc. so i know what i'm talking about violinistically. i guess it depends on how each of us defines the word "great". i'm just expressing an opinion here, of what i think about Belkin. In my opinion, he's not up there with Milstein or the very big boys. he's very competent, he plays the violin very very well.
@theoceanave I never cease to be amazed at some of the comments that allknowing people like you make on youtube! "Belkin is not a great talent"!! Are you a great violinist? By what standards are you judging him? I think Belkin is generally very highly regarded though he may not be the very best violinist (whatever that means)!
@UncleNathan Um, that was in 1998 my friend...I was in the audience too, and thought it was a good performance. Belkin is not a great talent, but he's very competent and definitely has something to say musically. He has a VERY colorful history with the violin, let me tell you....at one point, he quit playing. I think he was one of the few violinists who revived this concerto, so he deserves a lot of credit for that.

Could you fix the video? The sound is imbalanced. All rare videos of this concerto seem to be.
