Adorablement idyllique!!!

This piece has an incredible emotional range and depth. From contemplation a painful nostalgia emerges, and a certain ambivalence towards it. Then there are moments where the memory takes the thing remembered into a sublime realm - supremely beautiful - but this untethered beauty becomes embittered by the realisation of the irrevocable passing of time (the tonal disorientation).

absolument magnifique de délicatesse, de poésie et de lyrisme !

he hit the 10 thousand hour mark, that's what he did (the 10 thousand hour mark is the amount of hours it takes to master something)

Beautiful. Thank you!

Truly my absolutely favourite Faure, if not one of my favourite pieces ever. It's as if all the piano quartets and quintets hinge on this one movement: like they all are sketching out and fighting for some great goal that culminates here in this movement. Never is his voice so clear, so tapped into the essence of humanity: longing, despair, divinity, hope. A remarkable achievement and lovely performance.

So glad to see/hear this piece! My favorite chamber work of Faure, and that is in a field with many fine works. You really hear him pushing the tonal fence here, a renewed spark of creativity in his life's last decade.
