Another ridiculously priced game that I never quite got into - it has always just looked to me like a more 'coin-op' version of Golden Axe - Although there are very few horizontally-walking-beat-em-ups on the Saturn, and I know the game has a lot of loyal followers. It is relatively simple to pick up and play and don't be put off by the Japanese text - the game is pretty self explanatory.

  • This game NEEDS to come to XBLA/PSN!

  • In other words, Tower of Doom never made it to the PlayStation despite being finished because of the later plans Capcom made for a pixel perfect version of Shadow over Mystara on the Sega Saturn and the intention to bundle both Dungeon & Dragon games into a sole package as Dungeons & Dragons Collection.

  • Tower of Doom was actually being developed for the PlayStation also. Since the Sega Saturn version of Tower of Doom doesn't use any RAM cart at all and has some cut out animation frames, the PlayStation version would have been pretty much the same. They cancelled it when they decided to do Shadow over Mystara as well, using the 4MB RAM cart to do a SS pixel perfect port, and bundle it with Tower of Doom. The PlayStation couldn't have a perfect port and would have needed another stripped version.

  • Even when they didn't release it on another console since this was hard for other systems capcom sould probably ask the rights to make it a dlc for those new generation consoles! I think that this is the right time dont you think capco of america?

  • @youtoubakias Because they are stupid thats why!

  • The playstaion couldn't handle this game. Only Saturn had the power to do it right.

  • Well as i can see they actualy released it on sega saturn and thats good because i always wanted to see it on a console, why the hell they dont released it on the psn?
