The software is now available to buy here - http://www.sirenaudio.co.uk/
The first piece of software for my MA, based around the MSP tutorial on compression. A compressor is used to regulate the amount of feedback from a delay, resulting in a signal that loops indefinitely. As the signal loops it looses higher frequencies resulting in a similar effect to tape saturation. There are two separate input sections allowing an audio input and a file to be used as inputs at the same time. From the input is an optional effects section with distortion, filtering, and additional delay types. There are 5 delay banks, each with 4 delays that allow the user to set times in milliseconds or measures derived from a global BPM. Each delay bank can be recorded separately, as well as the option to record the input audio dry or with effects. An interesting feature is the random button which sends out random delay times within a user specified range creating a variety of results. The software is primarily designed for creating drones but is equally suited to loop based music.
There is also some synthesis (this is the patching view you can see). The synthesis patch is available here - http://cycling74.com/forums/topic.php?id=26673 . There are some issues with polyphony but by and large its useable.
Also note that this isn't a performance, so excuse the wrong notes. It is a demo of how I would typically use the software, though in this configuration I would usually start recording all the banks and the input at the start.
This is great. The presentation view must have taken a loong time!
