Now I've seen the film I have to say the location shooting worked really well, although I found it difficult to forget that we were not supposed to be in Eastbourne. If I didn't know the seafront so well I would have found it easier to imagine it was all Brighton.
I shot this footage, and now have a different user name on youtube.

@applemac555 It's budgetary restrictions, despuite the fact that the producer and director keep blaming "the landscape of the town has changed too much". However, Neil Jordan managed to make Brighton look like the 30s in 'The End Of The Affair', so it is possible to still film in town and look authentic. Brighton has never looked like Eastbourne. Ever.
