No duh it took a few tries for people to get into it. If you watch the show, then you know exactly how long it took for people to actually began to listen to fire bomber within the show. And it took even longer for the protodevlin . Basically it's just one of those songs you have to thoroughly enjoy.

@zoidsmaniac Deffinitly, I was soured on the show as a whole but I do agree with the maturity of the series having more impact at the finish line making the songs epicly dramatic. While granted they are catchy, I found myself looking more forward to watching the Max and Miria tribute scenes in battle more than once. In a funny way I wanna say it was like Japan remixing their own take on what oldschool american Disney animation was like going overboard on the song and dance filler.

I love this anime too. Not perfect, but criminally overlooked.

What can I say? Looks pretty cool.
Good job reviewing, by the way! Nice and specific = u =
Giving credit towards the character synergy and development is credited well, but the harsh fact of it is that if you dont really REALLY (emphasis outcry) like the singing in this series then you will be in sheer hell. This is not a standard macross show where the tunes are spread evenly where situation warrants. This anime is a soundtrack for prmotional use only it seemed. warner bros. Space Jam and Batman and Robin come to mind for being nothing more than advertising devices as well.

@SkulloMac The first half, no doubt. Dear god. SO. MUCH. PLANET DANCE. but in the 2nd half, where the creators got more serious about the show, the music really helped add to it, making the serious moments with no music even more powerful. It's a double-edged sword, but it does fit the series. No doubt an advertisement, I'm not disagreeing, but also like Space Jam and Batman and Robin, it's fun as all hell to watch.
