  • How does operating a Diesel differ from operating a Steam Engine?

  • @TheProudAmerican777 I would have no clue. Never have operated a steam engine though there certainly have been opportunities. I really love the E8s and F7s.

  • I felt a tear in my eye as I watched the joy you experienced. I could see the lovely little boy in you really shine, the emotions you showed were priceless and so heartwarming. I am happy for you, we dont have that kind of thing in Australia where u can just drive a train !(with instruction of course) . I grew up next to a rail shunting yard in the sixties when steam engines were well in use but fell in love with the classic lines of the diesel locomotives!

  • @dayday10001000 You are too kind and thank you for your comments. Yes, it was a delightful time. In fact, when watching that video today, I still bust out in a big wide grin!

  • I remember going to the museum. The high light was doing the run a locomotive program. Pretty much a surprise from my Dad! XD I ran the SP 2873, but now I envy you cause you ran one of the F7. LOL

  • @gyjg6564167 Thanks, it was fun. I love the E8s and the F7s.......reminds me of watching trains in the 50s and 60s.....

  • wow cool ,,wish that were me,,,lucky you

  • That is SO awesome! I would Love to get to do that someday! I've had the pleasure of riding in a steam locomotive cab, but not driving. I posted my video as a reply on here. Love the little laughs when you feel the beast responding to you too!

  • @Luciferminusone More like bowing to out-of-control private enterprise.

  • Beats H.O., huh?

  • @TheProudAmerican777 A steam engine takes alot more teamwork between the crew (fireman and Driver), and both must know the route like th eback of their hands, as knowoing what is coming up is very important.

  • Nothing like the sound of an FP-7

They don't make em like they used to.
