Lag after a couple of weeks? Hell no, I've had my macbook pro since 2007 and it doesn't lag at all. Hell, I've had no problems, and I use it for all sorts of things from making videos, music, to gaming (well, not very heavy gaming, as a computer from 2007 will not do new hardcore games).
