    Julian,

Thanks for the message. I did try and get a feature film made of her novel

'The Old Manor House'. I wrote an adaptation. May try again in the future.

I've been reading Professor Labbe's work on Smith for about a year and a half now. I greatly appreciate the work she has contributed. A few months ago I completed my MA thesis on Smith's sonnets to the Arun, so her poetry is very close to my heart. I'd love the opportunity some day to just sit and talk with Professor Labbe. Maybe someday in my career my wish will come true. She seems like a nice person, in addition to being a fine scholar. This was the first time I've ever seen her speak. Thx!

Can anyone please tell me anything about Nicholas Hankey Smiths' wife(s). My family in Australia have had had much trouble trying to find out about her (their) family history. It's the missing piece to finding out our true family history. We think it's a persian/indian ancestry. Can anyone make any suggestions? His daughter Madelina Forbes Smith died in Saint Kilda Australia and is buried in Saint Kilda Australia. Please contact me if you have any information on Anni Petruse or his other wife.

Professor Jacqueline Labbe thank you for sharing such incredible information. I am the the 5th Grandchild of Charlotte Turner Smith and I live in Melbourne Australia. I have found some Google books on line and it is fascinating reading about my ancestors in such detail. Nicholas Hankey Smith is my 4th Grandfather son of Charlott Turner Smith. I will watch these a few times over to gain as much detail as possible.

    Thanks again.

    Julian
