  • Youre welcome. Its nice to be able to help. Ive been riding and racing since 1997, and worked as bike mechanic, so some experience around biking has been developed. Lemmy know which bike you ended up, and as in Youtube, share a video of your ride then ;)

  • just to add, there are other brands and bikes as well, as Trek and Orange, but I cannot give any other advice, than test ride. Pay attention on head angle. For your rides, I would recommend something around 67-66 degrees. Travel minimum 140 mm up to 160mm (sometimes less is more). In order to maintain allrounder capability, weight is one factor that sholud be paid attention to as well.

  • I would fall on Orange 5 then. Its the ultimate allrounder tool incl Enduro races. Thats my tool for national Enduro races on this season and also bit rougher bike trips. Its very capable also to do what you listed. Trek Fuel EX is pretty XC, long distance toy ;).

  • get the 2012 Fuel EX carbonara. it has 1 degree slacker head angle than mine. It behaves better in higher speed (more stable). What sort of rides do you do in what kind of terrain (mountains, flat land... etc)

  • did you record this with your penis?

  • Thanks for the advice. Really appreciate it! I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again

  • A bit of everything really. The main place is called Swinley Trails (loads of YouTube videos from there). It does have some hills but has some great technical and fast trails with berms and small table tops. I also want to start racing Enduro rounds which will be between 2 and 3 hour rides with the focus being on the down hill sections as these are timed separately. Cheers

  • Thanks for the reply. I suppose drops aren't that important. I'm really after an all rounder that can handle XC rides, trails, berms and so on. Do you think this would be a good bet for that? Does it feel completely different to the Orange? I rode one last week. Great bike! Thanks again

  • Its more xc than alu frame EX. I have Orange 5 for more rough rides. To be honest, I would not recommend to use this bike for drops nor tabletops. I got this for long stretch rides, due low weight and capable suspension.

  • Really great vid! I'm looking at getting an EX 9.8 myself. How do you find it doing medium size drops and jumps (table tops and small doubles mostly). I was a bit worried that it was going to be a pure XC bike and wouldn't be able to handle it when things get a little more extreme.
