A continuation of my painting in progress series. In this episode, I draw, add collage, and even more paint to the background. Be on the lookout for episode 3 "Painting The Face" next week hopefully. :)

This original painting, titled "Trust" is now sold, but I will have prints available soon in my shop http://pauletteinsall.etsy.com

  • You look like Sarah Palin's sister

  • Paulette I've so enjoyed watch all these videos, and know I'm gonna sign up for one of your classes after the first of the year!! I pray your son is doing better!!! ((hugs)) Bevie (from flickr and ZNE and Etsy)

  • I've been searching flickr looking for inspiration to start painting, and after watching this video, I am so inspired to paint today! :-)

If you don't mind, I have a quick question for you!

First, on the right side of the canvas you placed a piece of text which turned out wonderfully! It looks as though the text was transferred on, but wasn't. I'm wondering how you painted over the writing without covering it up? I've been struggling to get this effect for a while.

  • hi. lovely work. thank you for sharing it. are u using acrylic colors? and is the cloth you blot the color with, wet?? I tried to do the same, but did not have a nice effect. thanks

  • it is probably an acrylic gel medium.

  • you're good -- may i ask what you are using to adhere your small images (paper?) to the canvas??

    thanks.

  • At first I thought, "what is she doing?" But I think it's really creative to be layering paper on as your background. Nice job!

  • Love it!

  • Hi. Love it. What do you use to draw the figure before painting it?
