David Rovics sings about the abolitionist fighter John Brown (recorded with a camcorder in his living room in Portland, Oregon). With all the talk lately about Abraham Lincoln a song about John Brown seemed like an appropo thing to write, and in the winter of 2009 David did just that.

Just so all know, the first man to die in the Raid on Harper's Ferry raid was a free black man who was a postal worker. It kind tarnished his intent from the very beginning.
