These guys have some truly wicked teeth, I got to look at a larger ones teeth and soon after he missed getting ahold of my hand by a pubic hair. Put the fear of god into me when it comes to blue tails. Animals that are definitely to be respected.

ok thats definitely not a 6 month old specimen, its not quite full grown, i would say sub adult 1.5-2yrs old. your lucky yours isnt aggressive, many of these imports are very aggressive. My best suggestion is to build its trust with you, they are naturally a very skittish animal. try tong feeding it for a few months, eventually it will allow you to pet it. Handle it for about an hour on a regular daily basis. this will really help out alot, the rest is in your hands.

I would really appreciate some advice on how to tame these. I have a six month old one. Doesn't whip bit or hiss but cannot stand being held. Can you help me?

sure sorry about the late response i get a ton of comments, and messages
Adults are very hard to tame down, becuz thy are wc and have never been held, they will never fully be TAME, but with time may be accustomed to being handled.
As juvies they are much easier to work with, and can become socialable with proper work.
how large is it now?
