Composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein is still known as one of the most influential figures in the history of American classical music. He conducted the New York Philharmonic in its hey day, but is perhaps best known for his work as a composer (West Side Story!). In 2008, what would have been his 90th year, a number of special concerts were being held to commemorate his life.
Leonard Bernstein's daughter Nina Bernstein is interviewed by BBC's Jane Little while visiting Britain as part of celebrations to honour her famous father. Topics include her childhood growing up as the daughter of an acclaimed composer and conductor, the relationship between her parents, and the celebrations held in honour of her father.
