Nice Video. I've been pondering entropy and the arrow of time and I wonder if time is just a measurement of entropy? Sure there are means of measuring motions that a cyclic, so we can make clocks and calendars, but that could be just arbitrary. Science says if you could travel near the speed of light, time slows down, but what if it is entropy that slows down, not time?
Nice simple video, thanks! It's not impossible for entropy to decrease but like you said it's highly unlikely because it would take a 'near infinite amount of time'. E.g. an object with only 17 particles would take 10^17 seconds to return to its original ordered state, which is the age of the universe, so anything with more than 17 particles (which is like pretty much everything) wouldn't ever have enough time to return to that state.
analogy aside, the water and dye system isnt very accurate. Since its not a closed system, energy from gravity alone would make the liquids seperate (or at least settle the dye)

@robertwc82 il rephrase that lol. increasing to HIGHER* states of entropy

or perhaps time is merely a mental process or a measurement not a thing of substance.
perhaps there is just matter, energy increasing to ever increasing states of entropy

Good work.
I cant say i have the complete knowledge of entropy now, but you gave me some understanding without hurting my brains.

but a good laymans explination to be sure though.
