The off-duty officer was joined by an on-duty officer, and the two got the woman and her one-month old out of the car. They notified the train dispatch to alert the conductor of a vehicle on the tracks, but the train was unable to stop, and crushed the car. The woman failed a sobriety test and was arrested.
