When Rory was in Taste he played Belfast all the time during the troubles. Few people did. Ther was one modern music shop crymbals and I went in and he was there. I was just starting bass then - 40 years ago? He talked to me. I mean he just said howya doin and we talked and I talked about his bass player then and Rory said how solid he was. What an ordinary nice guy. I had tickets for the gig that night and as always he was - well brilliant.

He sold over 40 million records, his concerts were always sold out. I saw him perform in Holland way back and it was just magical. Rory didnot want to be famous and those who knew him know that. He said in an interview he would rather be Ledbelly than Boy George, says enough in my opinion....

There must have been floods of tears rolling down cheeks when this was played at Rory's funeral. But boy what a brilliant musical legacy he left us.

If I could have met just one so called yet utterly deserving "Guitar Legend", it would have been Rory.
The guy seems so grounded, and has a lot more natural talent than many of his peers, or those that followed. Respect!!!

Not only is Rory an unbelievable guitarist, he's an incredible person... For time to time I find myself thinking "Stop being amazing, already, you Irish bastard!"

I'm a little bit glad that he's underrated, his music i like a secret treasure that I enjoy almost alone. I know thats incredibly selfish XD
but his voice cheers me up everytime and his guitar just melts my heart,.
