  • They may respect each other, but obviously they are not relaxed. After all, the result is perfect and fits to the sophisticated song.

  • A beautiiful traitress.

  • windstorm 1000: she started out as a pop singer. If you were able to see and hear this whole DVD you would see the way the music evolves between these four wonderful musicians. This bit we have watched here is an early rehearsal and Kiri is learning to sing jazz, which is another animal entirely.

I don't think she sings anything like an opera singer here. Have you heard her sing opera?

Breath windstorm, let it wash over you - it will be a much more enjoyable experience. With respect.

  • @theblueangel28 You are right--we go to the concerts of singers we enjoy, or buy CD's of people we like listening to--it IS taste thing. I really liked what you said about artists not putting limits on their creativity--That's one of the most intelligent, perceptive comments I've heard about artists in general here. Thanks for broadening my tastes--I still prefer certain things, but don't we all. Love to you back.

  • @windstorm1000 well Autumn Leaves is not associated with Broadway

and really, musicians can sing anything they love, nobody is forced to listen to it against their will, and an artist wouldnt really serve themselves or listeners by placing limits on their creativity or how much love they express

both of these pieces are quite beautiful to me, and I am very very glad to have them available to listen to

    -Love

  • Why do opera singers insist on doing pop? Its like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole!! is it conceit that just because you can hit high c's you fell entitled to do Broadway??? These are two voice types folks.

  • Caught this rendition a few years ago on a PBS special - have been trying to find it again ever since - I believe there was an album/disk named "Kiri Te Kanawa - Sidetracks" that was released shortly afterwards that featured these wonderful performers - thank you so much for the upload

  • Not convinced that this renditon by Kiri is her best.I adore her voice in every other song I have heard ,but this song and her interpretation of it,does not inspire me.

  • lovely! thanks for sharing :)
