Even without those great old European cars to salivate over, Original beats Remake hands down! Mark Wahlberg simply doesn't have that Cockney swagger that made Michael Caine so memorable as Charlie Crocker.

Best line of the film.
I did like the remake but the original is my favorite because it didn't take itself too seriously. Plus, Michael Caine is in it which is a lot better than Mos Def's crappy acting in the remaker

Sadly in Hollywood these days it is all about remakes, sequels, prequels, and comic book films.
I saw the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still recently and man was it bad. The 1951 version is far superior.
