skeletal family, ghost dance, sisters of mercy, march violets, joy division, stooges, etc. were great rock bands that never claimed to be gothic or deathrock. labels or fads were a curse they all tried to avoid, it was all about creativity and originality, nothing more, nothing less. hope this generation can see and experience it.

The best Skeletal recording I've yet heard. Good performance, good song. They sound as good as their (less sucessful) West Yorkshire contemporaries Dawwatcher and Cheap and Nasty (when they also perform well on good songs).

@SleekGothic have nothing against those bands but never really tuned into them. like i had mentioned a while back it's about creativity and originality that can heighten ones feeling of the moment just as i had a chance to experience the specimens, sisters, christian death, black sabbath, motorhead, dk, public enemy, siouxie and the list goes on. they were a great channel to invoke my mental and emotional body electric that ran through my spine and up to my cerebral cortex.

@VoodooUprising unfortunately for many Babybats and poseur goths it's more about fashion than it is about the music anymore.

Recently when I asked a babybat what goth bands she listened to she replied with Korn, Slipknot, and Evanescence.

these kids know absolutely nothing about the culture!

I long for a true Goth music revival!
