  • I worked for digital mapping company in 1987 that had a separate building or the VAX Cluster which was 2 MIPS. In 1995, my 486 DX2 66Mhz I measured using an Intel utility at 22 MIPS. I'd love to know what we have today rates at but I know that a Core i7 is around 5000x faster than the P150 I was using in 1996!

  • @MagikGimp 200 meg is actually more than you really need...

  • 1987 I bought a Jasmine 100MB HD for my first MacII. It was $1100+!!!!

I recently acquired two new 640GB WD HDs for $50 each!

However, that MacII had better sound than my ASUS MoBo with the ATI 9800 All in One Radeon! -though it was mono. My son's Gateway laptop has two 160GB HDs, each cost $55, and a good Mobility Radeon 9000 Video/sound card. The sound is good, but not better than that MacII !!

I also loved Dark Castle and Crystal Quest Color edition, Oh, and Glider!

  • 1992

My first HD was 32MB and cost me a little over $500 in the late 80's.

  • hahaha people baging out the 200 megs,, im fair sure this vid was made in the early 90s..... 486 was the good gear lol

  • 0:50 and 4:06 = Epic nerd smile

  • greasy mullet is not cool
