This would be completely lovely if it were played a little slower. The setting has the majesty and depth required, I'm sure Purcell would be proud to hear this interpretation of his lovely piece. Colline.

it's music- IMO, you play this piece fast when you have a small chamber group for a dance, but slow when you have, like, the London Symphony Orchestra or a massive pipe organ and want this piece for a huge battle scene. Music is largely subjective, but I think it is fair to say that works of art are most beautiful that can be subtly changed for different purposes, and have the quality that all the variations you can think of remain beautiful: Star Wars' best songs are good either fast or slow.

@LordBazaar yeah young person's guide to the orchestra is based on this :)

Pride & Prejudice! <3 Love it.

@LordBazaar Well, the maine theme of that was this dance tune by Henry Purcell. The Young Perso's guide to the Orchestra, the subtitle is "Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Purcell", so it was based on this :D

this is the same as the young person's guide to orchestra?
-
where can i get this version of the piece?

It's just so wonderful!
Totally disagree about it needing to be a slower tempo. This is a dance!

It's supposed to be fast. It's supposed to sound like The First Churchill's theme, so even too fast is better than too slow in this case.
