my told me he failed his fitness test but it was bullshit and they found out that it was a false fail so he got in the airforce and was EOD and btw his hands are really fucked up from touching chemicals....just thought i would tell you

@aptxxxtimmy I have a substantial amount of body fat. If it wasn't the case, I'd be ripped. But nobody has called me out, whether it was NCOs or fellow Airmen, for being FAT. I suppose I could thank the Atkins dietary approach for that: I was the airman who never touched anything with sugar in it with the exception of giving blood afterwards!

@aptxxxtimmy This is the Air Force being too concerned with IMAGE. As a knee-jerk reaction, we gotta implement this so we don't look like fatbodies in our blues. I've heard stories just like that in my time too, and these were about airmen who were in better physical shape!

@thekingster13 - I think whatever issue there was with pencil whipping tests was overblown and overreacted to. Having someone outside of your unit do it was just fine. There are actually pretty big fatbodies in the Army from what I've seen, but like you said they may not be in a combat MOS, esp guard and reserve, still it looks bad, but I understand the need to do it for retention. Hopefully that issue should be resolving given the economy and the winding down of operations.
