Sufism 5/12 (Common Sufi Beliefs and Practices; Hamza Yusuf & Zaytuna Institute)

The Prophet (salla'Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, ".... I have left you upon clear guidance. Its night is like its day. No one deviates from it after me except that he is destroyed." Reported by Ahmad, Ibn Maajah (no. 43) and al-Haakim. It is declared saheeh by Shaikh al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah (no. 937).

Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) said: "Whosoever introduces into Islaam an innovation, which he deems is good, then he has claimed that Muhammad has betrayed (the trust of conveying) the Message. Read the saying of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic: 'This day I have completed your Religion for you, and I have perfected My favour upon you, and I am pleased with Islaam as a Religion for you.' [Surat-ul-Maa'idah: 3] So whatever was not (part of) the Religion on that day, is not (part of) the Religion on this day. And the last part of this ummah (nation) will not be rectified, except by that which its first part was rectified by."

It is not at all. There are more calamtious facts I missed or id not have time to mention. If you are speaking of Zuhd, then these two are not related and a Sufi today is not a Zaahid, he is a Jaahil

also brother I was wondering is dhikir really haram?like for example sometimes i say

Allah is great 33times,subhanallah33 times,allhmdulliah 33 times and etc.

?? I hope no one understood from my speech that I said Thikr is Haraam! How can that be? It is a sunnah to say these 33 times Tasbeehaat.... I was referring to the Sufi invented Thikr and not the one taught by the Prophet.

i'm so confused and saddened by the state of the ummah I can't believe ppl strayed so far from the correct path of the sunnah.may Allah guide us all.

I knew were divided into sects but I had no idea it was this serious.

do these ppl never read the Quran or read the hadiths?

Yûsuf Estes has even warned against Hamza Yusuf.. i think it was him you meant.

And I've read a pdf from Bilâl Phillips, he said the sufis mixed islâm with their cultures when they became Muslims i,e Iranians mixed islam with fireworshipping, indians with hinduism, africans with african dancing etc.... May Allâh reward you akhî.

What is it with these "Sufi Masters" knowing things that they should not know? Where I come from many people who have had sihr done on them have gone to "sheikhs" and before they could even talk, this "sheikh" just suddenly knew everything about the person and their family's history...and that is one of many things...which include very disturbing stuff..I think the answer lies only in one category...you call this Islam? Audhubillah!

@herndonboy13 i don't see it as biased..how can you say biased? Tasawwuf?!? How can something that is not from the time of the Prophet SAWS even be CONSIDERED whether it's tasawwuf or satawwuf or anything?!? BIDA'AH!

And for the record..i've seen videos of what these sufis doo.piercing yourselfs and making sujud to your "masters"..Astagfirullah!
