Week 3 Tutorial.
There were four main areas to create this animation using after effects.
Stage 1-The clouds.
1-The cloud image was a pre-set image in the effects folder in photoshop, i played around with the image a little bit then saved it.
2-Import into a new composition in after effects, drag onto timeline.
3-I then used position (CTRL P) key frames to adjust the position of the cloud to the top and bottom of the frame in a second so it would give the appearance of the clouds rolling across the scene.
4-I then duplicated (CTRL D) the layer and used sequence layer to make it last 6 seconds.
5-I then selected layers 2, 4, 6 and rotated them by 180 degrees to make the cloud rolling smoother and match the other layers.
*End of stage one.

Stage 2- Batman Logo.
1-Batman- First import the batman image and drag it to the timeline, then create a new yellow solid to go over it.
2-I changed the opacity of this to 40% so the Batman shape would be visible enough for me to see.
3-I then created a mask layer of the Batman shape in the solid using the pen-in-tool.
4-I key framed this shape on the timeline. I then used the grids so that I could change the mask into a rectangle by dragging out my points.
5-Key frame the shape into the beginning of the timeline so that it would transform into the Batman shape.
6-Then duplicate (CTRL D) the layer,
7-Change it to black and reduce the scale by 3%.
8-Voila! The Batman black and yellow logo.
*End of stage two.

Stage Three-Putting them together.
1-Drag the Batman composition onto the cloud composition.
2-Then key frame the scale larger at the beginning then smaller to make it look as though it has zoomed onto the screen .
3-Then key frame the rotation so that the Batman logo would rotate 3 times then adjust the position so it was facing the right direction when it zoomed out.
4-Key frame the position so it fades towards the right hand side.
*Stage three complete.

Stage Four-Spotlight and Rain Fall.
1-Create a new composition in the project and create a new solid with the Lens flare effect that can be found under the effect window under generate.
2-Then with the flare I dragged the center out so I could choose where I wanted to be lit up. Also adjusting the setting to make it look brighter.
3-Then add an adjustment layer for the rain effect. In this I had the oppertunity to adjust the speed, angle, droplet size, quantity, opacity, and source depth. I hope this made the rain more realistic and didn't take the initial look away from the animation.
